Happy Earth Day!

What do suburbanites do to celebrate Earth Day? Why, we go to the e-waste recycling event at work then water our veggie garden, of course! Seriously, we are just too obsessed with being eco-friendly...it's hampering my ability to get stuck in and clean through the boxes in the garage. I'm just going to have to set the timer for 30 minutes, do some work, and then re-evaluate, because that garage is not going to clean itself.

  1. That 30-minute trick is the way to go. When we both worked full-time jobs, we had the "Ten Minute Rule" which stated that when we got home from work, we'd set the timer for 10 minutes and do whatever amount of housework we could fit in. It was surprisingly effective.

  2. Marla - My mom used to do that! She's set the timer (can't remember for exactly how long...probably 10 or 15 minutes) and my four brothers and I were supposed to "blitz" through the house putting things away. It really IS amazing how much you get done! Ditto for working during commercials...on the rare occasion anymore that anyone gets stuck with commercials!

And I agree about the "too obsessed" with green, Denise -- there are some rabid people out there. I worry about getting shot for having a water bottle some days!!
